MTD Walkers reviving with new Rs. 858 m worth construction project

Recently CML MTD Construction Ltd., a subsidiary company of MTD Walkers PLC, has commenced work of one of their new road development project valued Rs. 858 million in Kurunegala.

A distance of 9.5 km of the entire Circular Road in Kurunegala to be redeveloped under the 100,000 km Road Development Project initiated by the Road Development Authority (RDA).

This was inaugurated at an auspicious time with the participation of Kurunegala Mayor Thushara Sanjeewa Vitharana, Opposition Leader of Municipal Council of Kurunegala Wijayananda Wedisingha, Municipal Council of Kurunegala Member Chula Mendis, Coordinating Secretary to the Minister of Road and Highways Dakshitha Lankathilaka, MTD Walkers PLC Group Director Dr. Arosha Fernando, MTD Walkers PLC Senior General Manager Lakmal Gunaratne, MTD Walkers PLC DGM Finance Achala Kumarage and number of key local Government representatives. “We have managed to secure road development work of over Rs. 10 billion in the recent past, and this circular road in Kurunegala is its first project. Similarly, we are in the process of securing new projects in other construction areas such as buildings, water, power, irrigation etc which we have the number one grading, and this is a key strategy of reviving of MTD Walkers PLC,” said MTD Walkers Group Director Dr. Arosha Fernando during the ceremony held in Kurunegala recently.
