Lakmee Exports Lanka Ltd., a trusted name in the consumer products sector themed as ‘Ape Kamai – Ape Rasai’ (Our kind of style and our kind of taste) and dedicated to provide healthy and tasty products, launches six high quality salt products establishing Lakmee Lagoon Salt Company. 

Branded as ‘Lakmee Lagoon Salt’, these products are introduced in a move to make locally processed high quality salt available to Sri Lankan consumers at an affordable price.

“Until recent past, Indian imports were the cheap salt products available in our markets. Having purchased shares from a salt company in Puttalam and establishing a new company named ‘Lakmee Lagoon Salt’, we decided to introduce a locally processed, pure, high quality salt with no artificial additives for a reasonable price as Lakmee Lagoon Salt. As a company pursuing a dream of becoming the leading food processing entity in the country, we introduced ‘Dadayam Batta’ soya meat with no artificial flavours or added clourings,” said Ushan Udumulla, the founding Chairman of Lakmee Exports Lanka. 

Having started as a small business of consumer products with just 5Kgs of soya meat in 2008 at Thalawa in Anuradhapura District, Lakmee Exports Lanka saw a tremendous progress within a short span of time. Today, the company’s product range includes 55 consumer items such as soya meat, spices, sauces and instant foods. 

With an efficient island wide distribution network manned by a sales team of over 150 persons and a high quality products range Lakmee Exports Lanka has been able to win the hearts of Sri Lankan consumers. 

The company has obtained ISO 1400:2015 and ISO 22000: 2005 quality certifications and many accolades including ‘The Brand of the Year’ award for their popular product ‘Dadayam Batta’ soya meat at SLIM Brand Excellence-2018, SED Gold award in 2014, ACCA Entrepreneurship Gold Award-2014 and Great Place to Work.
