Lakdhanavi presents essential medical apparatus to Health Ministry

Essential medical apparatus worth Rs. 16 million consisting of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Ventilators, Non-Invasive Ventilators (BiPAP) and High Flow Oxygen Therapy systems were presented to the Ministry of Health by Lakdhanavi Ltd. last Friday.

Lakdhanavi Ltd. Chief Operations Officer Eng. Dhammika Nanayakkara handed over this equipment to Health Ministry Secretary Badrani Jayawardhana, who accepted the equipment on behalf of the Subject Minister, Pavithra Wanniarachchi. Director-General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Health Dr. Sunil De Alwis and the Dy Director General of the Biomedical Engineering Services Dept. Eng. Janapriya Karunathilake were also present during the occasion. 

Three state-of-the-art ICU ventilators manufactured in Switzerland, two Non-Invasive Ventilators (BiPAP) manufactured in Australia and two High Flow Oxygen Therapy machines produced in New Zealand were amongst the medical apparatus handed over.

Ventilators are a crucial form of life support for those infected with the COVID-19 virus, which often infects the respiratory tract and lungs of a patient, which in turn results in laboured breathing which at times results in death. 

Lakdhanavi Ltd. donated these essential medical apparatuses in support of the commendable efforts taken by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi and the entire government machinery to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Lakdanavi is willing to continue its support as a necessity arises. 

The company has also been credited with renovating a ward and developing a High Dependency Unit at the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital in Borella, which housed children infected by the dengue virus and the company still carries out the maintenance of the same.
