The Women’s Chamber of Industry and Commerce (WCIC) in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers Sri Lanka (PwC) has embarked on an initiative to conduct a quick survey to assess the impact of COVID-19 on business continuity for women entrepreneurs and women in business (professionals).

The study aims to understand the impact COVID-19 has had on business operations, measures adopted to address challenges faced, new opportunities arising due to the present situation as well as how WCIC could assist women in business.

With the findings, WCIC plans to make informed representations to relevant stakeholders with regards to needs of women entrepreneurs in responding to COVID-19.

WCIC said the COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone. The prevailing local and global context has varied implications for firms doing business in Sri Lanka. Sectors depending largely on export markets are particularly vulnerable to global shocks.

On the other hand, consumer demand as well as the way businesses operate are changing with a “new normal” taking shape.  How is this affecting the Sri Lankan Women Entrepreneurs? The survey will shed key insights.
