Welcoming the Government’s moves to promote ‘Work from Home’ to mitigate the spread of new coronavirus (COVID-19), Hutch yesterday unveiled a number of special initiatives.

Hutch said the initiatives would allow subscribers to remain always connected in order to be kept informed and also to continue with their daily activities from home.

“The first initiative is to ensure Hutch subscribers continue to have airtime credit in order to access mobile services without the need to go out of their house. In this respect Hutch is promoting the use of its online recharge facility through its Hutch website, the convenient purchasing of packages through its Hutch Self Care app and extending enhanced airtime loans to its subscribers,” the company said in a statement.

Hutch also encourages its subscribers with a 10% bonus offer for every reload and bill payment made through its website https://online.hutch.lk/hopp/. This offer is valid for all prepaid or postpaid connections until 31 March 2020.

Secondly, when the regular agent manned call centres offer restricted access, Hutch subscribers will be able to continue contacting Hutch representatives to address their urgent queries through WhatsApp, Viber, SMS and email channels where responses will be received and replied to promptly.

Hutch, in conjunction with the TRCSL, has also promoted a number of innovative prepaid products that will allow all Hutch subscribers to always stay connected. CliQ 3G, delivering time based unlimited internet, will be offered with a special 25% discount. Unlimited YouTube for 30 days is offered to keep the family educated and entertained without worrying about running out of data quotas. Hutch is the first operator to launch 100% Anytime Data packs giving maximum quota value and flexibility to its subscribers.

Hutch has also extended free access to eLEARN to all university students together with TRCSL enabling students to continue their studies from home.

“Hutch, with its new bigger and better network, including nationwide 4G, is proud to support the Government in combating the COVID-19 virus in Sri Lanka. We would especially like to commend the efforts made by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) for its proactive measures in addressing various community connectivity requirements during this crisis,” Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka Ltd. CEO Thirukumar Nadarasa added.
