Finance Minister meets Chinese Ambassador

Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera greets Chinese Ambassador Cheng Xueyuan 

Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera met with Chinese Ambassador Cheng Xueyuan and his delegation at the Treasury yesterday. Minister Samaraweera apprised the Chinese Ambassador about the Sri Lankan Government’s plan to re-engage with the IMF and thanked the Chinese Government for their continued support. 

Chinese Ambassador Cheng Xueyuan reiterated his country’s support to the development of the Sri Lankan economy, and pledged their support on efforts to re-engage the IMF in a sustainable manner. 

The meeting was attended by Treasury Secretary Dr. R. H. S. Samaratunga, Senior Advisor to the Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mano Tittawella and other senior Finance Ministry officials.
