Farmchemie Ltd., the market leader of the Sri Lankan animal health industry, won a coveted Merit Award in Extra Large Category in the National Level Manufacturing Sector at the CNCI Achievers Award 2019, organised by the Ceylon National Chamber of Industries. Farmchemie has been dominating the local market over last 15 years and entered the export market with their well-established brand ‘Farmstar’ Products, customised veterinary premixes and feed additives.

Farmchemie has already made its presence in India, Uganda, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and UAE since 2018. With a strong commitment to quality standards by acquiring premium quality supplies and good quality processes, Farmchemie has become the first and only veterinary health and pharmaceutical production facility in Sri Lanka to hold the prestigious ISO 9001:2015 & WHO GMP Quality Certification.

Apart from their own fully-equipped factory complex, they have already setup another plant under BOI approval exclusively for export purposes, with quality certifications such as ISO 9001:2015, GMP+ and FAMI QS. The Merit award at the National Business Excellence Awards 2013, Gold winner at Agri Business Awards organised by Department of Agriculture in 2014, Most Promising Entrepreneurship Award in APEA Awards 2014 and Merit Award at CNCI Awards in 2019 are all success stories of Farmchemie.

Founded by Uditha Wanigasinghe in July 2002, the company commenced its operations with only three employees as an importer and distributor of animal health products. Uditha Wanigasinghe’s extraordinary perception of the problems in the farming community and his genuine efforts on their behalf won their trust in record time, resulting in Farmchemie becoming the market leader in the animal health sector within a very short period.
