European Chamber of Commerce congratulates new PM; extends support to revive economy

The European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (ECCSL), has congratulated the newly elected Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and has extended its support to the Government to revive the economy.

Following is the ECCSL statement.

On behalf of the Membership and Executive Committee of we wish to extend our warmest and heartfelt congratulations to you on your appointment as the 9th Parliament’s Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. 

It is with great expectation and confidence that we look forward to your tenure as our Prime Minister and know that under your strong and astute leadership, you will instil a culture of integrity, good governance and sustainable development in government, the public service and society at large.

With the emergence of the new Government and propositions to revive the current economy, the European Chamber of Commerce hopes to support and succour the Government of Sri Lanka with implementations of economic policies that would strengthen the relations between Sri Lanka and Europe. Furthermore, the Chamber will invest in efforts to mobilise bi-lateral and multi-lateral trade and financing by leveraging government to government relations to attract equity and revenue in to the country. 

The European Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka is dedicated and committed in providing its fullest support towards the implementation of economic policies which will drive sustainable and equitable economic growth in the country.

We wish you every success on your journey to bring development and prosperity to the people of Sri Lanka.
