Electronics Manufacturers and Exporters Association congratulates new Govt.

The Sri Lanka Electronics Manufacturers and Exporters Association (SLEMEA) in a statement yesterday congratulated the newly-appointed Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Cabinet and State Ministers. 

It said the clear mandate given by the public of Sri Lanka is also an indicator of the confidence and trust people have placed on President Gotabaya Rajapaksa to steer the country to new heights. 

“We trust the alignment of the senior leadership of the country will be a blessing to improve the manufacturing and export industry. This will impact positively in building investor confidence and attracting FDIs,” SLEMEA President Manjulal Waas said in the statement. 

“The initiatives that promote domestic production of Electrical and Electronics products is anticipated by the members of the SLEMEA and is viewed as a constructive step in increasing the production capacities locally,” it added.

SLEMEA said promoting a culture of innovation, research and development, reducing the barriers to establishing businesses will help the youth to engage in high value generating design and development activities – related to electronics design, smart device design, and IoT.

SLEMEA is looking forward to partner with the Government officials to increase the Electronics design and manufacturing footprint to capitalise on the existing Free Trade Agreements and benefit from schemes such as GSP.
