The EPFS Community Fair is back again on 19 November at the IdeaHell Warehouse, located at 45/6, Alwis Place, Colombo 3 (behind the Bishop’s College Auditorium) from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

The stalls feature a wide variety of local foods, sweets, home-baked goodies, a variety of spices, art and crafts, handmade clothing and much more.

“I am absolutely passionate about supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses,” says Michael Moonesinghe, founder of the EPFS Community. “This fair is aimed at giving our home cooks, budding cottage industries and entrepreneurs the affordable platform they need to showcase their products and services, plus help support the charities we support.”

Michael, who is also the founder of the Business Hubs Sri Lanka, a network of co-working centres, went on to say how especially significant the EPFS Community Fair is this time around as it marks a fitting wind-up to the 10th Anniversary of Global Entrepreneurship Week (#GEW2017), a world-wide celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit spanning 170 countries. Business Hubs Sri Lanka is a collaborative partner of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Sri Lanka and the Global Entrepreneurship Week (#GEW2017).

The EPFS Community Fair supports small home businesses and entrepreneurs by providing them with a platform to promote their goods and services and at the same time, continue to support the EPFS Community’s charities and worthy causes. Vendors will be free to make a voluntary donation to the group’s charity fund based on how successful the fair has been for them; entrance will also be by a voluntary donation.

The EPFS Community is one of the largest and probably the most popular Facebook groups in Sri Lanka today as a platform for advice on just about anything. The group currently has over 56,000 members and raises funds through donations from the sale of products and services. 100% of these donations are given away each month to support 25 small and local charities and worthy causes; to date over Rs. 18 million.

The EPFS Community plans to have fairs on a regular basis to further support the entrepreneur and small business community. For more information on the EPFS Community Fair, contact [email protected]  or join our fast growing Facebook group: ‘The EPFS Community’.
