Delegation of SL-Pak Friendship, Trade and Investment Association meets Pak envoy

A delegation of the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Friendship, Trade and Investment Association met the High Commissioner of Pakistan, Dr. Shahid Ahmad Hashmat, at the High Commission yesterday.

The Sri Lanka Pakistan Friendship, Trade and Investment Association is one of the oldest associations of Sri Lanka which was established in 1950. The association has established itself as a useful platform, dedicated to the promotion of a relationship of friendship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Association President Ifthikhar Aziz briefed the High Commissioner about the history and activities of the association including various social welfare and cultural activities under the purview of the association. 

The High Commissioner lauded the role of the association. He underscored that the association has played an important role in bringing people of both countries together through various activities and exchanges, thus contributing significantly towards the warm and multifaceted relations Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy today, especially the generous donation of corneas to Pakistan. 

He expressed hope that the association would continue its positive role in fostering friendship between citizens of the two countries. He assured that the High Commission of Pakistan would continue to patronise and support the association for future endeavours.
