Daraz.lk Mobile Week 2018 kicks off on 18 June

Daraz.lk has announced its second edition of Mobile Week 2018 from 18 to 30 June promising to bring bigger and better offers.

Daraz.lk an online shopping destination that provided many promotional campaigns in the past two years have come up with their second edition of Mobile Week this year offering special discounted rates, free shipping and fastest delivery for their products.

Daraz.lk which is owned by Alibaba Group started its operations in 2016 in Sri Lanka; in partnership with major local brands and has been offered a wide range of consumer electronics, fashion and beauty products.

Speaking at the news conference Daraz.lk Country Manager Bart van Dijk said Mobile Week 2018 will be the largest online sale for mobile phones of the year in Sri Lanka.

“Being in the age of life on the go, owning a premium mobile phone is imperative to making life easy. That’s why this assortment of heavily discounted mobiles during Mobile Week will be so generous; everyone’s tastes and needs will be accommodated and that is what Daraz hopes to bring; a little bit of happiness to everyone’s shopping experience. We make sure that we get the best deals for our customers,” he said.

Daraz.lk has set its goal to push its official mobile app consumers in order to increase the usage of the app promising to be more convenient to customers in months to come and to push the app forward by providing free shipping only for app users including free delivery island wide.

HSBC will be on board with Daraz as official banking partner to Mobile Week 2018 offering 10% discount double the deals for the Mobile Week with 0% instalment plans for 24 months in order to provide consumers to pay smart phones and accessories through EMI schemes. 

Commenting on the special deals and development in Daraz, Head of Operations Darshika Attanayake said key mobile selling partners will be featuring close to above 2,000 deals; these deals would mostly be within the mobile category but also including smart phones, tablets and accessories. Those deals can only be seen during the Mobile Week.

In addition Daraz has set fresh deals with unique offerings such as giving an exclusive push for specific day to brand loyal customers which start from brands such as Samsung, Apple, Energiser, Huawei to Nokia will have brand days offering with great discounts and freebies and also exclusive flash sales will be on the first half of the day and second half of the day throughout the Mobile Week in a limited time line.

Attanayake pointed out that Mobile Week 2018 is one step ahead than the last year and it will be focusing on an engaging shopping experience not just for deals with a range of high end mobile phones and also Daraz team will make their products accessible to everyone in the island giving an opportunity to upgrade their phones to the next level.

“We really want to go island wide to set up hubs across the island in the next year, aiming to increase it up to 18 hubs in Sri Lanka by end of this year,” he added.

Daraz hubs has been already in operation in Kandy, Panadura, Gampaha, Chilaw and Kurunegala, followed by Galle, Matara, Nuwara Eliya, Jaffna and Ratnapura expanding locations during the months of June and July.

Daraz.lk in partnership with Uber, Scope Cinemas and McDonald’s will be offering vouchers which can be redeemed at these locations or at any Daraz outlet.

The Mobile Week – 2018 will be joining hands with local authorised distributors such as Singer, Softlogic, John Keels, SIEDLES and Future Word to name a few. These partnerships will be providing customers to access any of the leading global brands at the flash sale.
