The officers of the DCS are required to fulfil their duties even under difficult circumstances, including natural disasters and calamities, to compile statistics on demographic and socioeconomic conditions, public aspirations, etc.

Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs State Secretary Darshana Senanayake attended as the Chief Guest at the ceremony. Officers of the Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs, DCS Director General Dr. A.J. Satharasinghe and DCS staff graced the occasion.
