Cabinet nod for fertiliser procurement

The Government this week approved the procurement of July’s fertiliser requirement for Ceylon Fertilizer Company and Colombo Commercial Fertilizers Ltd.

The proposal, made by Agriculture, Rural Economic Affairs, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Minister P. Harrison, was approved by the Cabinet. 

The Ministry was granted approval to procure 30,000 MT of Urea (Granular) at the rate of $318.25 per MT from Agricomodities & Finance. Approval was also given in the same Cabinet Paper to purchase 3000 MT Muriate of Potash at the rate of $342.2 per MT from Agricultural Resources and Investment Ltd., and 15,000 MT of Triple Super Phosphate at the rate of $324 per Mt from Golden Barley International Ltd.
