‘CEB Care’ app enables digital experience, empowerment of users

CEB launches new ‘CEB Care’ mobile app for the convenience of its consumers under the patronage of Minister of Power, Energy and Business Development Ravi Karunanayake. Committed to engaging and empowering consumers, the Ceylon Electricity Board’s (CEB) new ‘CEB Care’ mobile app has received extremely positive feedback. 

The novel initiative aimed to ensure consumers have ready access to electricity billing and consumption information has revolutionised the utility leader’s ability to provide a truly digital experience.

Acknowledging the app provides greater convenience with vital electricity information just a click away, the response to the app from consumers has been encouraging.

Positive feedback received from CEB customers via the app include sentiments such as ‘impressive and very useful’, ‘great initiative’, ‘a good concept’, ‘useful information,’ etc.

The primary aim of the CEB Care app is to ensure a customer-centric approach in an effective manner providing improved control and visibility for end consumers. More consumers are encouraged to download and use the app to benefit from being better informed and receive a more efficient service. 

The launch of the CEB Care mobile app was held under the patronage ofMinister of Power, Energy and Business DevelopmentRavi Karunanayakeon 17June at the BMICH. 

The soft launch of this mobile application was in-line with the Ceylon Electricity Board’s 50th anniversary.

“We are proud to have launched this world-class app, developed by our own engineers.In our aim to enrich life through power, the launch of the app is an important milestone in our journey towards providingconsumers a superior service, providing more awareness and transparency,” noted Jayawardena.The ‘CEB Care’ app will provide over 6.5 million CEB consumers ready access to information on electricity-related matters including ability to lodge complaints ranging from simple power outages to road accidents and the ability to be prepared with possible outages via an Interruption Calendar.    

Consumers can access billing information together with a bill calculator to be able to monitor their usage. Online bill payment is another feature available through the app. Using a payment gateway consumers can conveniently complete their bill payments online in a few clicks.Through a simple registration process which requests user’s name, email address and NIC number,consumers can with ease set up an account. Multiple accounts can also be setup and managed under a single user profile. The app is available on the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play Store for Android users. Alternatively it can be downloaded via the CEB website, www.ceb.lk.
