Brombil Tea Factory becomes biggest seller in 2020

Brombil Tea Factory situated in Pelawatte in Kalutara District has produced and sold the highest quantity of tea for a factory in Sri Lanka in the year 2020, selling 4,067,279 kgs. The factory produces both Orthodox and CTC teas. 

The factory is also certified with RA and ISO certificates with around 4,500 small holders supplying green leaf to the factory. The factory employs over 400 people from the area.

The factory is owned by Evergreen Group of Companies which is owned by Aruna de Silva. The Brombil Tea Factory is managed by lndika Nallapperuma (Director), Senal de Silva (Director), Lasantha Alwis (General Manager), Priyantha Silva (General Manager), Nihal Jayasinghe (former Manager), P. P. Y Tyron Rathnayake (Manager) and Samitha Manjula (Production Manager).

Evergreen Group is one of the largest tea producing groups in Sri Lanka with 12 factories under its operations, namely, Evergreen, Brombil, Thundola, Talangaha, Katandola, Wathurawila, Walahanduwa, Hill Garden, Rekadahena, Kanneliya, Lihiniyawa and Marakanda.
