Bairaha offers not just a job, but a career

Bairaha’s Human Resource team on 28 September, had an opportunity to participate in a grand event of Science Industry Interaction Cell (SIIC), which was ceremonially organised by the Science Faculty of the University of Peradeniya, branding it as the Industrial Day 2018, and which has been held for the fourth consecutive year.

The Bairaha Group was honoured to be part of this event, the main objective of which was to provide a common platform for the representatives from the public/private sector organisations to meet the final year undergraduate students and the graduates, who are looking for internship and employment opportunities in both sectors.

The Bairaha Team, being the platinum sponsor of the event, was able to display a professional approach to recruitment by giving the potential candidates an opportunity to interact with members of Bairaha Management. The university also extended its fullest cooperation by providing Bairaha with all the required facilities and opportunities.

Bairaha Farms PLC Human Resources Head Naveen De Silva delivered a presentation to the students titled ‘We don’t offer jobs but we offer careers with my organisation’. He said that Bairaha is a company working on three main pillars: Performance-based culture, Team based culture and Value based culture.

Bairaha Group also considers participation in such events as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) by giving aspiring students an opportunity to work for the Bairaha Group.

Already, nine candidates have been enrolled as management trainees, working in different segments of the organisation. These management trainees have already completed seven months of training and five of them would be absorbed based on their performance.
