ACL to hold 14th Corporate Law Conference tomorrow

For the 14th consecutive year, the Association of Corporate Lawyers Sri Lanka (ACL) has organised its Annual Corporate Law Conference, which will be held on 29 October from 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at The Blue, Hilton Colombo.

The theme of this year’s conference will be “Evolving Trends for Corporate Lawyers”. The Chief Guest of the conference will be Chief Justice of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Jayantha Jayasuriya, President’s Counsel, and the Guest of Honour will be Attorney General Dappula de Livera, President’s Counsel. 

The Conference topics will be on cybersecurity and data protection, banking and finance, and tax returns and appellate procedure. The speakers on cybersecurity and data protection are: Judge of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka Kumuduni Wickramasinghe, Attorney-at-Law Sunil Abayaratne, University of Colombo Faculty of Law Senior Lecturer Dr. Sampath Punchihewa, and Attorney General’s Department Additional Solicitor General Ayesha Jinasena, President’s Counsel. The speakers on banking and finance are: Kushan De Alwis, President’s Counsel and Chandaka Jayasundara, President’s Counsel. The speakers on tax returns and appellate procedure are: KPMG Principal (Tax and Regulatory) Suresh Perera, and Attorney-at-Law Rajeev Amarasuriya.
