President wishes British PM a speedy recovery

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has sent out his best wishes to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson who has been hospitalised with the new coronavirus.

In a Twitter message the President wished the British Prime Minister a speedy recovery. “Our prayers are with you and the people of the UK during these trying times,” the message said.

Former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya also sent wishes to the British PM wishing him a speedy recovery.

“I join millions of Sri Lankans in their wish for a speedy recovery to the UK’s PM @BorisJohnson. As the leader of a strong democratic nation, he will be much needed by the people of Great Britain. His implicit message to the world is clear: power is no defence against #COVID19,” he said in a Twitter message.
