Islandwide curfew on Sunday

• Curfew extended until further notice in Colombo and Gampaha Districts

The Government has decided to impose islandwide curfew on Sunday, while extending the curfew in Colombo and Gampaha Districts until further notice in an attempt to contain the spread of COVID-19, the President’s Media Unit said.

In other districts, the curfew will be imposed at 8 p.m till 16 May and will continue till 5 a.m, while on 18 May curfew will be lifted at 5 a.m. but will be reintroduced at 8.p.m and will continue until 23 May.

Despite the curfew, the resumption of civilian life and economic activities will continue in the Districts of Colombo and Gampaha till 16 May and re-commence from 18 Monday, PMD added.
