IGP orders police to strictly implement curfew

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) today issued a directive to all police stations countrywide to strictly implement the imposed curfew. The decision was taken after more people were observed travelling after the Government loosened restrictions to enable the public to visit pharmacies and banks. However, this was restricted today with all private pharmacies directed to close shop and only Osusala outlets to remain open. People suffering from non-communicable diseases have been instructed to send a trustworthy person with the prescription to collect their medication from public hospitals, clinics and pharmacies.
