Cabinet approves 6-month suspension of lease repayments

Cabinet today approved a request by the President to suspend lease repayments of private buses, school vans, three-wheelers and small lorries used by small and medium entrepreneurs for six months.

The decision was taken in light of the current economic situation.

The Finance Ministry and the Central Bank is to issue an order to that effect to all financial institutions, said Cabinet Spokesman Bandula Gunawardena at a press conference held at the Information Department today.
