COVID-19 recoveries cross 500 mark

Eighteen new persons have recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total so far in Sri Lanka to 538.

This includes seven persons who were receiving treatment at the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID), seven at the Homagama Base Hospital, three at the Colombo East Base Hospital, and one at Iranawila Hospital.

According to the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 960 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Sri Lanka. Among them are 557 Navy personnel.

The number of active cases stands at 413, of which 192 are at the Navy Hospital, 102 are at the NIID, 60 are at the Colombo East Base Hospital, 31 are at the Welikanda Base Hospital, and 21 are at the Homagama Base Hospital.

The number of patients identified from the Colombo, Gampaha, and Puttalam districts remains unchanged at 150, 36, and 35, respectively.
