‘Encounter Ranil’ exhibition commemorates Prime Minister’s four decades in politics

image_1489638144-82b5c38223‘Encounter Ranil’, an exhibition which traces the life and political career of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will begin today in Colombo. 

Commemorating his four decades in politics, the exhibition traces his contribution to Sri Lanka’s growth and emergence in the region. The exhibition will be opened by President Maithripala Sirisena and will end on 20 August. It will be open from 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. daily at the BMICH’s main banquet hall. 

 Commencing his career as the youngest Member of Parliament in 1977, he has served in this capacity for four decades through various crises in the country. Since his appointment to Parliament he has served as Leader of the Opposition. ‘Encounter Ranil’ maps his journey as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka on four occasions.

The exhibition relates the life and times of one of Sri Lanka’s most prominent and influential personalities in the political firmament.
