4th International Conference on Agriculture and Forestry next week

The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM) is organising the fourth International Conference on Agriculture and Forestry [ICOAF] 2017 at Taj Samudra Hotel Colombo from 24-25 August with the participation of 100+ local and foreign delegates representing more than 24 diverse countries all around the world. 

The ICOAF is chaired by Prof. D.K.N.G. Pushpakumara, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and Dr. Samih Abubaker, Former Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Al-Balqa Applied University, Jordan. Also Dr. Romeo C. Clemente, Cagayan State University, Andrews Campus, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, Philippines serves as the Adviser of ICOAF 2017.

Dr. Nafees Meah South Asia Representative International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) will collaborate the conference as a keynote speaker and his topic is ‘Scientific Research as a Strategy for Achieving Sustainability in Developing Countries’.

Ministry of Agriculture, Sri Lanka acted as the supporting ministry for this particular conference while AL – Balqa Applied University became the Hosting Partner. Sri Lanka Convention Bureau is acting as the strategic partner while University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Progressive Sustainable Developers Nepal and Warmadewa University, Indonesia is giving their support as the Academic Partners.  

The conference is organised under the theme of ‘Current Challenges and Future Perspectives of Agriculture’ which is a very significant and hot topic for the whole world, and it is expected that this conference will cover every aspect of field of Agriculture including, Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources (Soil, Water, Environment etc.), Farming Systems Management, Integrated Pest Management, Plant Health and Nutrition, Biotechnology and Genetics, Soil Research and Rehabilitation, Water Resources Management and Engineering, Seed Science Research, animal science and much more with sub topics of field of Forestry including, Forestry, Environment and Biodiversity, Biodiversity Conservation, Climate Change and Mitigation, Natural Products, Forest Products and Technology, Forest Education and Information Systems and many more. 

This was a certainly valuable occurrence for all the stake holders including academics, practitioners, industry experts, policy makers and researchers, in field of Agriculture and Forestry. The opportunity that they will get from networking, knowledge sharing and engaging with world renowned professionals in field of agriculture will be beneficial to clear up the blanked cornerstones of their career. The research and presenters will be engaged in Q and A session with the audience of the conference and the participants not only got the opportunity to listen to world class speakers during the conference, but also will have the opportunity to share their knowledge at the technical sessions.
