The Baby Cube: Beautifully preserving blissful memories

The Baby Cube, the brainchild of Dhanush de Costa and Rasha Yusuf, was initiated to give parents the opportunity to capture the most important aspects of parenthood and help preserve those memories for time to come. Following are excerpts of an interview:

Q: Why a pre-pregnancy shoot? 

A: A pregnant woman is an embodiment of beauty in my view, as she is bringing forth into the world a new life within her. As a mom myself I regret not having captured this precious moment as like many mothers, I am sure the idea that runs in one’s mind is ‘I look so fat!’ In truth putting on weight is a part of this, however through all the changes the body goes through, knowing there is a little person waiting to come into the world is worth capturing and treasuring. Once it’s gone it’s gone, well at least the belly is, so it’s best not to miss out on an opportunity.

Q: What is a baby shoot?

A: To many here it is still a new concept and is sometimes viewed with scepticism as we are handling infants who are sometimes only a few days old. In order that the parents feel at ease we work with them to understand the baby’s sleeping patterns and work along that timeframe. At all times the model aka the baby’s comfort is our number one priority. We work along with the parents and come up with creative setups which best portray their little one. 

A baby shoot can start from when the baby is just four days old and continue until the little one is about six months old as during these stages his/her appearance and personality changes and a collection of these memories in the form of an album will be something treasured forever!
