Applications called for Advance Diploma in Journalism

The Sri Lanka College of Journalism (SLCJ) has commenced registering students for Advance Diploma in Journalism which will commence on 9 July. The diploma classes will be held on weekends and it will be a one-year course. 

The four core subjects of the diploma are; Print Television, Radio and Social Media. The diploma course is taught by a dedicated staff and supported by an adjunct faculty of professional journalists and academics. Target audience for the diploma course is mid-career journalists, other professionals and school leavers after Advance Level examination.

The only industry-driven journalism institute in the country – the Sri Lanka College of Journalism endeavours to ‘Change Media from Within’, by imparting skilled training and education for journalists in Sri Lanka. The SLCJ is equipped with all facilities to teach both Print and Broadcast journalism. 

The SLCJ was established following the ‘Colombo Declaration of Media Freedom and Social Responsibility’. The SLCJ is an operational arm of the Sri Lanka Press Institute and the Press Complaints Commission of Sri Lanka.
