Ceylon Estate Workers’ Education Trust calls for scholarship applications

Applications are being invited from children of estate workers who are residents of estates to be awarded scholarships by the Ceylon Estate Workers’ Education Trust (CEWET).   

These scholarships are available for the G.C.E. Advanced Level, undergraduate courses and for students undergoing vocational or technical courses. 

Students who have passed the G.C.E. Ordinary Level (with a minimum of six credit passes) or Advanced Level examination, and are below 25 years of age, can apply for this scholarship. The completed applications forms must be accompanied by photocopies of a birth certificate, G.C.E ‘O’ Level/‘A’ Level result sheet, latest salary slip of parents and Estate Superintendent’s certificate regarding parent’s occupation.  Application forms can be downloaded at the High Commission of India’s, Colombo website www.hcicolombo.org.

Application forms can also be obtained from the High Commission of India, 36-38, Galle Road, Colombo 3 and the Assistant High Commission of India, No. 31, Rajaphilla Mawatha, Kandy.

Duly completed forms should reach the Honourary Secretary, CEWET c/o High Commission of India, P.O. Box 882, Colombo 3 on or before 30 June 2017.
