Kamarangapitiya Tea Factory achieves all-time record price

Kamarangapitiya Tea Factory, Pellmadualla achieved an all-time record price of Rs. 930 per kilogramme for a PEK grade in the Low Grown category, at the weekly tea auctions held on 4 April. Kamarangapitiya Tea Factory is a fully-owned subsidiary of the Asiri Group, Rilhena, Pelmadulla which is owned by Y.C. Weerasena and managed by his son Jayanga Weerasena. This line was purchased by Shan Tea Ltd. Kamarangapitiya Teas are exclusively marketed by Forbes and Walker Tea Brokers Ltd.
