Sushi Bar Samurai opens at Rajagiriya for authentic Japanese cuisine

The Sushi Bar Samurai opened its doors in Rajagiriya on 28 January bringing the novelty of ‘Kaiten Sushi’ to Colombo, having opened its first outlet in Negombo in 2014.

The ceremonial opening was graced by the Japanese Ambassador Kenichi Suganuma and Madam Suganuma and Tourism, Lands and Christian Affairs Minister John Amaratunga. Japan's Deputy Ambassador Kobi Yagi, Head of Political Affairs Kiichiro Iwase, JETRO Resident Representative Kazuhiko Obama, JICA Chief Representative Fusato Tanaka and business leaders Tilak de Zoysa, Ajith Dias and Jonathan Alles were also present along with Sushi Bar Samurai promoters NWS Holdings Chairman Takashi Igarashi and Managing Director Viraj Malawana. 

The restaurant is known for its authentic Japanese culinary flavours mixed with its family friendly vibes making it a hot spot on the Rajagiriya road. The first authentic sushi bar of its kind in Sri Lanka, the Sushi Bar Samurai promises value for money.

The Rajagiriya outlet also caters to the more formal diner offering four exclusive private dining rooms equipped with state-of-the-art AV equipment and offering a truly elegant dining experience. Named for famous Japanese warriors, ‘Nobunaga’ is the largest of the private rooms seating a maximum of 20 making it the perfect setting for family celebrations and formal corporate functions. ‘Masamune’ is a traditional ‘tatami style’ room accommodating eight guests at a seating.
