Ceylon Tea Boutique attracts large number of ITB visitors

Ceylon Tea being among the most recognised tea brands in the world, was amongst the most popular items for the German visitors who visited the Sri Lanka Pavilion at ITB 2017.

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau organised an exclusive Tea Promotional Boutique at the ITB with three Sri Lankan tea hostesses. Over 4,000 visitors visited the Ceylon Tea Boutique during the five-day promotional campaign.

Minister of Tourism Development of Sri Lanka John Amaratunga and Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Chairman P.M. Withana joined other German invitees including Jürgen Klimke and Michael Donth at the ceremonious opening of the Ceylon Tea Boutique on 8 March.

Visitors for the tea boutique were introduced into several varieties of Ceylon tea and were given the opportunity to touch and smell different tea selections. The visitors were also given the choice to enjoy a cup of Ceylon tea of their choice. 

The upcoming 150th Anniversary of Ceylon tea was highlighted at the press conference which was held on 9 March and all the Journalists, who participated at the press conference, were given a complimentary pack of Ceylon Tea.

Going alone with the Government’s vision for joint promotional efforts the Sri Lanka Mission in Germany has taken the leadership in coordinating Sri Lanka tea promotion at the ITB 2017.
