Himalee Madurasinghe awarded ‘Women Super Achiever’ at World HRD Congress Silver Jubilee

01Himalee Madurasinghe, the CEO of Kantar LMRB, was conferred the prestigious Women Super Achiever award at the World HRD Congress which celebrated its Silver Jubilee at the Taj Lands End, Mumbai with the participation of delegates from over 100 countries. 

The Women Leadership Award recognises and appreciates the profound role played by women as leaders and decision makers in shaping the future of the region and nation, and who embody the qualities of leadership in displaying active, creative, and integrative efforts to achieve the best possible results.  It also identifies and celebrates the outstanding leadership and achievements demonstrated by women leaders that are reflected by the distinct innovations and initiatives brought in by them in various private and public sectors.

In November 2016, Himalee received the Leadership Award for Contribution to Market Research at the Market Research Awards presented by World Marketing Congress where she was invited to be a speaker. Himalee addressed the audience describing her experiences in setting up the world class Kantar RapidMeter TV Audience Measurement System, propelling Sri Lanka to become the first country outside the UK to have introduced such a technologically advanced measurement system for TV ratings. This was among many innovative products introduced during Himalee’s time as Kantar LMRB’s CEO.

Kantar LMRB has been in the limelight in recent years, winning several awards as a leading organization which has managed to strike a delicate balance between people and technology.  Under Himalee’s leadership, Kantar LMRB was awarded Asia Best Employer Brand consecutively in 2015 and 2016, Sri Lanka Best Employer Brand in 2016 by the Employer Branding Institute endorsed by Asian Confederation of Business.

With over 25 years of business experience of which 20 years of market research at Kantar LMRB, Himalee is a pioneer in the use of specialised research methods, leveraging innovative techniques to help design strategy for leading companies in diverse business sectors. 

Himalee currently serves as the country representative for ESOMAR (the essential organisation for encouraging, advancing and elevating market research worldwide) being the first in Sri Lanka to be appointed to this position in 2011. She is also the current President of the Market Research Society of Sri Lanka (MRSSL). 

She has also served on several judging panels including Effie and SLIM brand excellence conducted by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing, the apex body for marketing in Sri Lanka.

Himalee holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Ottawa, Canada.  She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the Open University of Sri Lanka. Himalee is a past pupil of St Bridget’s Convent, Colombo.
