The Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (IPS) in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF) recently co-curated a ‘Transformation Map’ for Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lanka Transformation Map was presented to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the accompanying high-level delegation at the recent WEF Annual Meeting which took place in Davos, Switzerland in January, 2017.

The WEF’s Transformation Maps are a dynamic system of contextual intelligence covering more than 100 insight areas and are aimed at enabling more informed decision-making by government leaders, businesses, civil society and academia, and in the arts and media.

The maps are categorised as industries, economies (regions and countries), global issues and system initiatives.

They allow the WEF to capture, augment and leverage the insight and knowledge generated at the WEF’s summits and meetings, through its extensive expert communities, and via its projects and other activities. The Transformation Maps are accessible to the WEF’s constituents.

In addition, several experts from Sri Lanka, including researchers from the IPS, have been invited to join the World Economic Forum Expert Network to contribute to the Sri Lanka Transformation Map, based on their areas of expertise. This new platform will enhance their ability to engage with the WEF and contribute to shaping the global agenda.
