A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Sri Lanka Automotive Component Manufacturers Association and Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India on 3 February at the 2nd New Delhi automotive summit which was held at New Delhi.

The MoU was signed between Dimantha Jayawardena, President of SLACMA and Vinnie Mehta, Director General of ACMA India.

This was a milestone for the Sri Lanka automotive components manufacturers to further enhance the relationship between both the associations. Technical collaborations, support and guidance in policy matters and knowledge sharing between both the associations were the key points highlighted in the MoU.

The New Delhi Automotive Summit 2017 was organised by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), the apex body representing the Indian Auto Component Industry in the backdrop of the ‘Make in India’ campaign of the Government of India. The auto component sector in India is today a strong $ 39 billion industry with exports of $ 11.2 billion and has been, in many ways, propelling this vision of ‘Make in India’ for the last several years.

The New Delhi Automotive Summit with the theme ‘Synergising with the Global Supply Chain’ was held for two days. Inaugural and a high profile Networking Dinner was held on 3 February on ‘Creating Global Value with Supply Chains – An Indian Perspective’ and ‘How innovations/Disruptive Technologies are shaping the Value Chains of the Future’ which was followed by a panel discussion and the valedictory Session was held on 4 of February.

Coinciding with the 22nd International Engineering & Technology Fair 2017, the New Delhi Automotive Summit 2017 also offered a never before opportunity to meet the doyens of automotive industry and learn from their rich experience, thereby making it the perfect opportunity to sign the Memorandum of Understanding for both the parties.
