‘Different Voices,’ an amazing concert!

‘Different Voices,’ presented by 126 students of Ishan de Lanerolle, was staged at the Lionel Wendt theatre on 11 and 13 January. The audience was amazed by the standard of music delivered. Even though this was a students’ show, everyone gathered felt that they were witnessing a professional show. Even the 40 kids ranging from two-and-a-half to seven years sang and moved together with no conductor or even a leader amongst themselves which surprised the entire audience. Sixty kids ranging from eight to 13 years sang 10 songs, enjoying themselves, and dancing very vigorously, these were interspersed with fantastic solos and duets by the senior students. ‘Different Voices’ presented by Ishan de Lanerolle was a show like no other which has certainly taken student shows to a different level – Pix by Indraratne Balasuriya
