IN-2Bren Security Ltd., the Sri Lankan partner of the worldwide Securitas AB Group, hosted its innovative ‘Hard Talk’ event for the 12th time at ‘8 Degrees On The Lake’, Cinnamon Lakeside on Tuesday, 10 January 2017.

The event was held under the distinguished patronage of Securitas Asia, Africa and Middle East Chief Operating Officer Kris Van den Briel and was hosted by Securitas Sri Lanka Country President/CEO Major Tissa Aluwihare.

‘Hard Talk’ is an open forum discussion originated by and unique to Bren/Securitas Sri Lanka, wherein clients can express their frank views and feedback on service – be it positive, ambivalent or critical.

Over the past 25 years, Bren has come to be recognised as the premiere security company in Sri Lanka and the main security service provider to the diplomatic community. The only security company to institute a rigorous five-tier operational control structure with innovative monitoring and control systems for heightened supervision of performance, including electronic audio/visual surveillance and third generation combined technological/manned security solutions, rapid response capabilities backed by a 24-hour Ops Room. Their well-rounded, multi-tasking security officers possess excellent communication and admin skills, are well versed in fire-fighting, first aid, mob control and covert in-house investigations.

In line with the theme of the occasion Bren/Securitas Sri Lanka invited their most valued clients, comprising of heads and senior members of major international Embassies and Diplomatic Missions, INGO’s and UN agencies, as well as from the major conglomerates and corporate bodies in Sri Lanka. The presence of the distinguished Head of EU Tung-Lai Margue, Ambassador of Egypt Mohmoud Hisham Assran and Ambassador of UAE Abdulhamid A.K. Al-Mulla added to the glamour of the occasion.

The evening commenced on a ‘wild note’ provided by wild-life enthusiasts and keen hobby photographers, Raveendra Siriwardena, Milinda Wattegedara and Sadeepa Gunawardena, who gave an avid insight into Sri Lanka’s unique wildlife, illustrated and brought alive with their fantastic photographs.

From wildlife to big brands: Stefanie Wege-Aluwihare gave a short excurse regarding the planned brand migration from Bren to Securitas, the worlds’ leading security brand.

Thereafter Major Tissa Aluwihare enlightened the forum in quite a dramatic style on future threat perception, its scope and evolution in recent years, handing over to Kris van den Briel, who briefly elaborated on the growing foot print of Securitas and its uniqueness.

The highlight of the evening, of course, was the actual ‘Hard Talk’, the open forum, round table discussion, where clients voiced their opinion on Brens’/Securitas’ service performance plus brainstormed and came up with various ideas for the future.

After this lively exchange of views, the guests were gathering on the top deck for another ‘wild treat’ – the amazing, electrifying Hikkaduwa drummers, ‘Elephant Foot’ – who entertained guests whilst they enjoyed the delicious food and wines, beautifully presented by Cinnamon Lakeside. It was yet again a delightful evening, full of entertainment and some very useful information!
