Seva Vanitha Unit donates books to school

The Seva Vanitha Unit of the Ministry of Defence donated a stock of valuable books, book racks and a cupboard to the library of Ganepalla Junior School in Kithulgala on 19 January.

The donation was handed over to the Principal of the school by SVU Chairperson Wasantha Gunawardana during a simple ceremony held at the school.

Ganepalla Junior School is a small school with 185 students and 15 teachers. The donation made by the SVU will fulfill a long-felt need of the school. During the ceremony the SVU Chairperson also planted a medicinal plant at the school’s herbal garden.

Ministry officials, SVU members and students of the school were also present at the occasion.
