Rakiya.lk – an online job board has gained wide adoption since their inception in May 2016: They have grown to over 50,000 active candidates in eight months and have over 850 companies posting jobs, with both figures growing by the day. Rakiya.lk’s success has come from providing cost effective and tailor-made services to companies looking to hire staff whilst making it easier for hiring managers to find and select the right candidate. Now Rakiya.lk is ready to move from an extensive Beta to Live.

Staying true to their slogan ‘Find jobs, Fast’ Rakiya.lk has a powerful search function which allows job seekers to quickly find their job of choice. They are uniquely subscribed to job alerts, which notify them when matching jobs are found.

According to Rakiya.lk Operations Manager Kaushika Hewagajamange, the problem most recruiters face is attracting quality candidates. “Rakiya.lk’s unique candidate attraction system combines both online and offline channels to find the right candidate for the job. This guarantees if there is someone looking for a specific job, they will see it.”  “We have been able to help our clients find accountants, software engineers, sales and marketing execs, BPO staff, management trainees, travel/tourism execs, management consultants and construction engineers,” said Kaushika. Rakiya.lk has identified the gap between recruitment practices in the UK and Sri Lanka through its parent company.

“We found out that Sri Lankan hiring managers spend a lot of time screening candidates without the right tools,” said Kaushika. “They would spend hours going through their emails to find the right applicant. This is time consuming and prone to mistakes. The best candidate for the job might end up lost in their email inbox or simply binned. Furthermore, there are many cases where candidates would spend hours preparing their CVs and hand over physical copies to the reception or the hiring manager. These aren’t even looked at and go straight into the bin.”

To tackle this waste, Rakiya has introduced a localised version of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) software, also used in the UK by its parent company, Simplified. This software allows hiring managers to easily sort, shortlist and schedule interviews in minutes and have everything stored in the talent pool.Rakiya.lk belongs to the same group as Simplified Recruitment Ltd., based in the UK. Founded in 2010 by Mahasen Gunawardena, Simplified has saved UK businesses tens of millions of pounds in recruitment fees, shortened the recruitment cycle and helped over a million people land their dream job. By bringing the latest in recruitment technology to Sri Lanka, Rakiya.lk hopes to make a similar impact here, and the initial results are quite impressive. A beta trial is available for a limited time, for companies to experience a world class recruitment process. To sign up visit: https://rakiya.lk/recruiter.
