Sri Lankan businesses invited to invest in Andhra Pradesh urban housing project

Chief Minister pledges to share technology, experience and city plans 

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu invited Sri Lankan investors to participate in the new urban development projects to be launched in Andra Pradesh, a statement released by the Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development said.

The Chief Minister, along with four ministers from Andhra Pradesh, met Minister of Megapolis and Western Development Champika Ranawaka for a discussion at his ministry office on different development plans initiated by the two countries including Megapolis development plans initiated by the Sri Lankan Government.  

A statement also said that the Chief Minister had offered to share his experience, technical knowledge, systems and plans for Amarawiathi, the mega city being built in Andhra Pradesh under his leadership.

Conveying his appreciating over the Megapolis and Western Province Development plans developed by Ranawaka’s ministry, Naidu said that proper planning and feasibility studies would yield good results in the future. Sharing his experience, Naidu went on to say that it was important to ensure the quality and sustainability of projects done for the public. 

Following the discussions, Naidu, travelling in a helicopter, surveyed the progress made in the Homagama, Pitipana and Malabe areas earmarked for the Green City and Technology City under the Megapolis Plan. Following the tour he met researchers and officials in the Pitipana Nano City to discuss and observe the research methodology and progress made.
