Born without arms and legs Janis McDavid will deliver a  motivational speech on 6 January 2017 in the Conference Hall at the Goethe Institut starting from 5.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. 19

The event with free entrance  will be attended by well-known personalities who are all known for their tireless work for the disabled.

McDavid's core message is "My ability is stronger than my disability" and the lecture aims to create more sensitivity towards pushing boundaries within ourselves. Janis motivates by his attitude and inspires to achieve great things with or without disabilities. His talk will consider values, morality, responsibilities and possibilities to convey to the listeners that people with disabilities have the same values, rights and dreams as everybody else.

This evening, supported by the German Embassy and the Goethe Institute, will be an eye opening experience and an invitation for everyone to exchange ideas, responsibilities and possibilities.

Janis McDavid was born in 1991 in Hamburg, Germany and grew up with four siblings in Bochum, Germany. Despite his disabilities his parents decided to send him to a school for children with and without disabilities and thus he learned that his disability should never be an excuse not to participate in normal school activities. Currently he is studying Business Economics at the University of Witten/Herdecke.

Born without arms and legs, Janis McDavid lives a life that seems inconceivable for others. But with creativity and a strong conviction, he manages to live quite a normal life. Driving his own car, that is technically adapted to his special needs, he is independent and mobile. With some help of friends and family, he studies, works, and engages himself as a volunteer in various associations. With his humour and an encouraging smile on his face, he invites people to get in contact and surmount initial apprehension.

As a motivational speaker, Janis McDavid motivates and convinces his audience that even under difficult circumstances, it is possible to make the impossible possible.
