The University of Kelaniya’s Department of Marketing signed an MoU with Unilever Sri Lanka last week at the university. With this MoU, Unilever Sri Lanka comes on board as a strategic partner of the Kelaniya Marketing Department.

The MoU focuses on the Certified Professional Marketing Graduate (CPMG) qualification offered by the Marketing Department and Unilever Sri Lanka is now a strategic partner in recognising the graduates who obtain the qualification requirements. This will be more of taking the Kelaniya Marketing students on onboard for the Unilever industrial training stint and ensuring wealth.

Kelaniya Marketing is a dynamic academic unit in the university system of Sri Lanka which focuses on crafting a strategist for the industry. In its path for crafting strategists, Kelaniya Marketing gives priority to the students’ academic and extracurricular activities. Undergraduates of Kelaniya Marketing have greater exposure to the industry. Kelaniya Marketing is unique among the other departments in the university system because it offers two diplomas – a Diploma in People Skills and a Diploma in Enterprise Resource Planning in addition to the undergraduate degree. In order to differentiate the graduates who are qualifying in all three programs, Kelaniya Marketing has begun to offer a unique tag called the Certified Professional Marketing Graduate (CPMG).

CPMG is a joint academic cum industry membership program which allows Kelaniya Marketing and CPMG partners to accredit graduates of the highest calibre as CPMGs and facilitate lifelong learning. The minimum criteria to achieve the CPMG statues is the completion of a Bachelor of Business Management (Special) Degree in Marketing, a Diploma in Enterprise Resource Planning, a Diploma in People Skills and one year of practical training at a recognised training partner of Kelaniya Marketing.
