untitled-2Sri Lanka Cricket announced that ICC Chief Executive David Richardson will visit the SLC today for a comprehensive briefing on the ‘SLC Way Forward’ which outlines its short, mid and long term plans.

Richardson will spend time with the senior management of the SLC and will be briefed on the impending changes to the constitution as well as to the organisational structure of SLC, and will conduct an interactive session with the heads of departments of SLC.

Commenting on the visit of the ICC CEO, SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala stated: “We are pleased that the ICC has recognised the vast strides we have been able to take toward placing Sri Lanka firmly back in its rightful place as a cricketing super-power. Several years of administrative upheaval has placed SLC in a very vulnerable position, and the return of an elected administration has seen Sri Lanka Cricket rising like a phoenix from the ashes. We are happy that Dave has accepted our invitation to visit SLC so we can update the ICC on the vast progress made in the past 11 months, as well as on the significant plans we have for the future.”

Richardson arrived in Colombo last evening, and will witness Sri Lanka’s first Youth Asia Cup fixture against Nepal at the NCC today, prior to visiting with the Asian Cricket Council and Sri Lanka Cricket.
