From 24 to 26 November, Korean Ambassador Chang Won-sam took an official trip to North-Central Province (Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura) and had a meeting with Polonnaruwa District Secretary Ranjith Ariyarathna. During the meeting the Ambassador was briefed on the current situation of the district, and the two officials also discussed cooperative ways to strengthen relations between Sri Lanka and Korea.

During the trip, the Ambassador donated to Polonnaruwa Pulathisi ICT Centre, 30 laptops sponsored by Samsung SDS as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to enhance Sri Lanka’s informatisation. He also donated digital pianos, children’s shoes, and pen-note sets to the Bosath Home for Children in Polonnaruwa and the Avanthi Devi Home for Children in Anuradhapura.

The donations were made by the Embassy in a dimension of the ongoing efforts to assist children in rural regions of Sri Lanka.
