Musical extravaganza Dialog Ridee Rayak goes live on stage 18th December

The stars of today and yesteryear from the Silver Screen will converge once again on stage for the 14th edition of Ridee Reyak, a musical extravaganza sponsored by Sri Lanka’s premier telecommunications services provider, Dialog Axiata PLC, for the second consecutive year. Ridee Rayak will come alive with glamour, music and dance on stage from 7 p.m. at the Nelum Pokuna Theater on 18 December. 

Ridee Reyak over the years has grown in repute as one of the most glamorous events in the local entertainment scene and the program is showcased by the Cine Star Foundation for the 14th time to raise funds to support over 320 local cinema artistes. Ridee Reyak annually provides a medical and a life Insurance cover and a monthly assistance package to needy yester-year artistes to a value of Rs. 5.5 million.

‘Ridee Reyak 2016’ which will be going live on stage for the  14th such occasion this 18 December, will feature a bevy of stars who will sing and dance to popular hits from today and yesteryear. These include the likes of Ravindra Randeniya, Malini Fonseka, Roy De Silva, Sriyani Amarasena, Cleetus Mendis, Veena Jayakody, Jeewan Kumaranathunga, Sriyantha Mendis, Sabitha Perera, Hemal Ranasinghe, Sangeetha Weeraratne, Channa Perera, Yashodha Wimaladharma, Bandu Samarasinghe, Tennyson Cooray, Suraj Mapa, Pubudu Chaturanga , Roshan Ranawana, Wasantha Kumarawila, Chilie Thilanka, Vishwa Kodikara, Sachini Ayendra, Dinakshi Priyasad, Anusha Damayanthi, Shalani Tharaka, Saranga Disasekara, Chathurika Peiris, Gayan Wickramathilaka, Roshan Pilapitiya and many more.

The Channa Upuli Dance troupe, who mesmerised audiences in the previous 13 editions of Ridee Reyak, will once again light up the stage this year and will also perform a special act to felicitate and honour yesteryear’s nightingale of Sri Lanka, the late Rukmani Devi. Veteran Artistes such as Sumana Amarasinghe, Neeta Fernando Geetha Kumarasinghe, Janaki and Menik Kurukulasooriya have also lined up for the Rukmani Devi felicitation segment.

Dialog Axiata is a strong promoter of local arts and culture, plus, the welfare of Sri Lankan artistes. In 2015, Dialog pledged a three-year sponsorship of Ridi Reyak to show gratitude for the yeomen service artistes from the silver screen have tendered to the public. 

Tickets for Dialog Ridma Reyak 2016, priced at Rs. 1,000, Rs. 2,000, Rs. 3,000, Rs. 4,000, Rs. 5,000, Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 7,500 will go for sale at Sadeepa – Borella, Sarasavi – Nugegoda and Maharagama and Kiribathgoda, Salaka – Union Place and at the Cine Star head office at the Nawaloka Hospital.
