Many world prize winners featured at ACCA Sri Lanka prize winners ceremony

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), which is the global body for professional accountants that offer untitled-4business-relevant, first-choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy, finance and management, recently held their awards ceremony at the Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, to recognise and award students who have excelled in their exams in December 2015 and March, June, September 2016.

The Chief Guest at the function was Sri Jayewardenepura University Vice Chancellor Prof. Sampath Amaratunga. Over 200 prize winners and passed finalists received their awards at the ceremony.

Bagging world prize winners as outstanding affiliates were Veronica Shalindri Homer, for December 2015, Abdul Salam Mohomed Shabdeen for March 2016, ThahaniIqbal for  June 2016 and Malindu Dananjaya Udawatthe for September 2016 exams.

The learning providers of ACCA in Sri Lanka that comprises of Platinum partner Mercury Institute of Management, Gold Partners, K-Aims Business School, KBBS Campus, Neptune Edification, Excellence College of Management, FTMS Global Academy Sri Lanka and Silver Partner, Imperial College. The learning providers were also handed tokens of appreciation for their untiring efforts in bringing out the best in their students and making them achieve successes that has placed Sri Lanka amongst the best in the world in finance talent.

Speaking at the function ACCA Sri Lanka Head Nilusha Ranasinghe congratulated the prize winners and said that ACCA’s globally relevant qualification has given many students an excellent start in core accountancy skills, where they have gained more specialist knowledge to build a successful career in finance.

She added that this year’s prize winners have done Sri Lanka proud and have helped reinforce the truth that ACCA has continued to be amongst the best in the world, hence the reason that there is a high demand for ACCA professionals by global employers.
