Smart Switch appoints OHME as Brand Ambassador

Global Resources International Ltd. (GRIP), the manufacturers of ‘Smart Switch,’ a remote-controlled bulb and a remote-controlled bulb holder, signed up the fresh new music band OHME as its Brand Ambassador.

GRIP was established in 2010 as the technology/innovation arm of the group. The motive of GRIP from the inception was to bring unique and innovative ideas to life.

The front-man and leader of OHME Randika Fernando stated: “It is indeed a pleasure to endorse a product invented and manufactured in Sri Lanka and we are honored to be a part of it.”

The Smart Switch holder was launched at Park Street Mews on 3 June 2014 amidst a distinguished gathering. A bulb holder that can be switched on and off with a universal remote controller, this unique product is the first of its kind to be 100% manufactured and marketed in Sri Lanka.

In 2014 GRIP ventured into the competitive LED bulb segment designed and developed in house a smart LED bulb that offers the same benefits and conveniences of the smart holder. It is operated by any infrared universal remote controller and is manufactured 100% in Sri Lanka. Manufacturing takes place in its Kalubowila factory and it is marketed and distributed island wide by ADS Holdings and Esther Lanka Ltd.  

“We are in the process of expanding the reach of our product throughout the island and we wanted fresh, up and coming personalities to endorse our brand and having Randika along with OHME will help us to enhance the acceptance of our product, especially among the younger consumer segment in future,” stated GRIP Business Development Manager Mevan De Silva.
