In preparation for the eVoting system, all Members of Parliament were fingerprinted yesterday.

A new sounds system as well as an electronic voting system has been installed in the Chamber. The electronic voting system will be tested when the vote on the Second Reading of the Budget is taken on 18 November. At present votes are taken verbally.

Deputy Speaker Thilanga Sumathipala asked all MPs to cooperate with the Secretary General of Parliament and his staff in recording the fingerprints.
