ESOFT, Sri Lanka’s most trusted name for providing high quality, private sector higher education, has joined INFOTEL 2016 as the Official Education Partner.

Organised by the Federation of Information Technology Industry Sri Lanka (FITIS), INFOTEL is South Asia’s oldest and most prestigious Information and Communication Technology (ICT) exposition and this year’s event is due to be held from 11 to 13 November, at the BMICH in Colombo under the theme ‘Empowering Digital Citizens’.

“ESOFT is delighted to partner with INFOTEL for the sixth consecutive year, as part of our ongoing commitment to increasing IT competency across the nation. INFOTEL is definitely a unique opportunity for students, teachers and parents to experience first-hand the new vistas in IT based higher education now available in Sri Lanka. Remember, while many traditional industries are stagnating, the IT industry continues to grow at a rapid rate which means that lucrative professional opportunities are being created all over the world, every single day. I therefore invite all Sri Lankan youth to visit our ESOFT Metro Campus stall at the INFOTEL Education platform to get an idea of the different study programs and pathways available to those of you who wish to pursue an exciting future in IT,” said ESOFT Group of Companies Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Dayan Rajapakse.

FITIS Secretary    Pujitha Rajapakse spoke about INFOTEL 2016 and described how it is especially useful for students: “This will be one of the largest student gatherings as a large number of school children will attend the INFOTEL Exhibition to experience the latest ICT developments of the global cyber village. For Future ICT Leaders, there will also be a Career Guidance program targeting a group of 500 students and 800 ICT teachers in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka. Another highlight of the exhibition will be the Student Innovations Pavilion, a showcase for university, technical and school innovators.”
