Three sales professionals from AkzoNobel Paints Lanka Ltd. were recognised for their outstanding work and achievements over the last year with accolades from SLIM NASCO 2016. This year, in keeping with tradition, the panel honoured the work of sales professionals around the country at an awards ceremony on 14 October at Eagle Lakeside.

Amila Indika, Gayan Lakshitha and Achalanka Galappaththi were awarded in the categories of Territory Manager and Front Liner. This year’s bronze is the third such accolade for Amila, who took home a silver in the Territory Manager category last year as well for managing Gampaha and Kurunegala districts, which he has done for five years with AkzoNobel. Gayan Lakshitha and Achalanka Galappaththi were awarded silver in the Front Liner category, which recognises good quality service and a determined work ethic.

AkzoNobel National Sales Manager Priya de Mel said, “All three of these sales professionals have displayed a tremendous commitment to their line of work not just over the last year, but during their time with AkzoNobel. We always encourage professional selling. When we recruit people to our team this is something we always look for-passion for what you do and the perseverance to be the best at it. Within the company, we try to create an environment that supports this kind of work ethic-this is why AkzoNobel has made it to the Great Place to Work index consecutively over the last few years.”  He also thanked the Sri Lanka Institute for Marketing for recognising the work of sales teams around the island, adding “we hope this is indicative of more to come from our team.”

The SLIM NASCO Awards were introduced in 2010 as an evaluation and selection process for sales champions in various sectors as well as job categories. The NASCO (National Sales Congress) aims to raise the standard of sales professionalism in Sri Lanka by choosing winners through a carefully moderated selection process adjudicated by an experienced panel of judges.
