TRAc hospitality training school’s open day today

TRAc, a brand new hospitality training school which offers high quality training, opened its doors recently to offer aspiring young men and women seeking careers in a dynamic, international industry a well-rounded training in the field.

There will be an open day today, 22 October, at TRAc’s Training Centre at  21/1C, 1st Lane, Piriwena Road, Mount Lavinia. 

TRAc CEO/Co-Founder Natasha Bergenvik said that while hospitality and tourism has traditionally been an industry that emphasised hands-on experience, the competitive nature of the business now requires a combination of experience and higher education to build a successful career.

Natasha with her husband Henrik initially wanted to open a hotel and were making plans going around the country and vetting properties when they realised there was a mismatch in the service quality of hotels. But they were hesitant to start their operation having witnessed the disparity between customer service and value for money. 

“We went to beautiful, state-of-the-art, modern facilities and were thoroughly disappointed. But in a way that was market research for us in our new venture,” she said.

This prompted them to start TRAc International, a vocational training company training young adults in the field of hospitality and focusing on developing and adding value to the industry by training people to a high standard with a unique focus on communication skills.

TRAc believes in offering the youth of Sri Lanka access to top quality hospitality training whilst giving intensive exposure to English and customer service.
